I started to think that i wouldn't get the shirt done as i only had Wednesday left as i was going home on Friday and the other days was being spent on BFTW. So on Wednesday i spoke to Dexter about it and we agreed that i would complete it in a couple of late night study sessions as he would rather my sewing be neat than rushed. So this made me feel better about everything i had to get done this week.
Tuesday was spent getting my shirt screen printed, it was along day because i had to redo my screen. It was also tiring because i was still screen printing in late night study n finally finished about 7pm. I still had sewing left to do on my trousers which i had planned to do in late night study but didn't get chance to, but we had an extra late night study session Thursday.
In the session on Wednesday i continued putting the shirt together and got as far as i could as i didn't have Friday because i was going home for the Easter holiday. As i was a little behind i was thankful for Beth's and Mary's help when i needed it. As a practitioner this learnt me that working in a team was good at bouncing ideas off each other because as we all asked each other if we were stuck or a little behind we then discussed the best way to do something.
I also keep going back to what i have already learned about re doing something as the next bit of the shirt was a little difficult and needed to be really neat as it is the vocal point of the shirt as well as the pleats.
To attach the pleats (look at the processes for more info on this) i had to gather the shirt just underneath both sets so they came together, i then had to hide the raw edges that u can see in the first two photos with two pieces of fabric on either side that are the same size and are matched on top of each other.
I had to unpick the bottom stitch line as one of the sides didn't get caught, but after i did it again it looked better and neater, as well as then catching both sides.
